Great motor – camera slider solution, September 26, 2014

Excellent little motor for the price. I used this for a motorized camera slider and it works well. It has quite a bit of torque – enough that you cannot stop it from turning with your fingers.

It is a DC motor so it runs slower with less voltage. It ran at about 1/2 speed when I ran it with 4 AA batteries (6v). It has been running fine with hours of use at a time.

If you are looking to get an slow speed or a variable speed motor, getting the right controller and motor together can be tricky. I used the “RioRand Upgraded 6V-90V 15A DC Motor Pump Speed Controller” with this motor and it works fine – on 6V or 12V. This allows you to control the speed from super slow to the full 30 RPM (when running it on 12v). And super slow up to 15RPM on 6V.

It has two terminals at the back that you can clip wires onto or solder them on, if you reverse the wires the motor turns the other way.

It also ships from within the USA so you don’t have to wait weeks for this one to come from China. Overall very pleased with this purchase.

Good motor, fast shipping, November 21, 2013

This motor looks exactly as it does in the picture. The pins for the electrical connection are sturdy and work well with a DC source. They are a little small, so it would be hard to make several connections to them. I’ve hooked it up to 2 AA batters, 4 AA batteries and a 9V battery. Under 2 (3 V) it turns (expectedly) slow, under 4 (6V) it turns at about 20 RPM (I just eye-balled this–1 minute was about 20 rotations), and under 9V it turns faster. I didn’t run it under 9V for very long (a few minutes), but it didn’t heat up or anything. It might be possible to run it under a 9V battery, but I have no idea what the long term consequences could be. I wouldn’t suggest it.

As for torque, I cannot stall the motor with my hand. It is a very powerful little motor. The motor is relatively quiet, but you can hear a buzzing if you really listen to it.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect for the price, but its a very high quality little motor, with a remarkable amount of torque. Takes a bit of time to coast down when power is removed, but short it and it stops pretty much instantly. I haven’t integrated it into my project yet, but one possible issue may be that I’ll need to work out a soft-start mechanism because its so powerful.

Just Installed them on my 2004 Chevy Avalanche ! They are Extremely BRIGHT! Recommend it (Look at the picture I posted) easy to solder I had to open cluster reconnect it and aling each bulb to the metals to see which is positive and negative before I solder once they go on I would mark them then I took cluster inside the house solder them in and put it back together and here is the results brighter then regular led bulbs as this has 3 little lights distributes all around the gauges giving it a 360 lighting AMAZING. I will buy more sets to do my wheel switches door controls and heating bulbs !

This review is from: Partsam 6pcs Stepper Motors + 10pcs white T4.7 LED Dash Gauge Speedometer Repair Kit for GMC (6*x27.168 Stepper Motor+10* white T4.7mm Mini Bulbs+40w Soldering Iron+solder Sucker+foot Soldering Wire)
I bought this for the stepper motors and thought it would be nice to replace the lights also sense my truck is 11 years old. I gave it 5 stars even though 3 of the lights didn’t work, but the ones that did sure brighten up my dash, all of the motors work great. There is plenty of soldier with this kit to do the job. If you have never put these in before (like me) watch the video on youtube it was a big help. The only down side to everything was a small glass rim around the bottom of the bulb that I sanded off with my dremel to fit into the mounts.
